Lactivism is defending a mother’s right to nurse in public AND, most importantly, a baby’s right to eat anywhere. (Thank you to Lisa who reminded me of this.) As a nursing mom, and as a human being, I support lactivism. You don’t have to be a mother or a parent to support breastfeeding in public; just a human being. Humans have been breastfeeding their children for centuries, so why should it be called into question now? Breastfeeding truly is best, and everyone should know that.
Here are some pro-breastfeeding links.

Be a lactivist today by congratulating a woman, whether it’s someone you know or a stranger you see in public, for breastfeeding.

I would argue that lactivism isn’t defending the mother’s right to nurse in public; rather, it is defending the baby’s right to eat in public.
